regular image categories?

Hi, I'm new to zotero-- and am trying to figure out how to save images in my database-- these are NOT web-based images, they are just on my hard drive. The forum posts I've seen seem to talk about how to use flicker and other web-based things with zotero-- but all I'm trying to do is store relevant photos in my reference collection. It seems that the only category missing from the "add item" menu are images/photos-- I thought maybe "artwork" or "document" is supposed to work for this? In any case, I have been unsuccessful with importing any images so far, using any category. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Have you tried dragging them into Zotero?

You can add the images to zotero using "Link to file" or "Store copy of file." As far as storing citation metadata about them, similar notes apply as to the web-based images or to sections of a book. Document should definitely work, but a more specific type might be useful (depending on the content and source of the image & how you wish to cite it).
