Multiple Citations

I am working on a MS Word 2016 for mac, the multiple citations would appear [1],[2],[3] instead of [1,2,3].
Tried the classic window with the multiple citation button already.
Anyone else experiencing this, that got it right?

If you're using IEEE style, what you're getting is correct and required like that by the style guide.

Ok, so how can I edit the style in the Style editor to merge these citation in one bracket?

If you just need a citation style in brackets, there are countless others that do what you want, e.g.
https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:springer-basic-brackets
unless you need something very specific, I'd be a waste of time for you to start editing styles.
