Upgrade StorageAdding Child Notes in Zotero for Mac

I have a list of references in a library collection.
I select a reference, for example, A journal article.
I select the menu item to add a child-note to this reference.
As I do, every other reference in that collection or sub-collection that has a child note attached to it, opens, revealing all their child notes as well. You can see the program chugging through all of the references, identifying those with child notes and preparing to open each one, when in fact, I only want to enter a child note on the reference I am working on.

I just tried it again, and it worked perfectly as you describe.
At the time I was experiencing this behavior, I was off line. I tried turning off wifi, to test, but it worked perfectly. Sorry for the bother
