Co-authorship formatting

Is there any way to change settings for a specific manuscript in Zotero stand-alone to indicate that two authors share a co-first position? And to add document citations in the format (X and Y et al., 2016)?

Co-authorship is becoming more and more common in research, so if there is no feature for this, could it be added to future development initiatives?

Does any style require or recommend this? In disciplines where people co-author routinely and list authors alphabetically, this isn't done.
It also doesn't exist in any metadata schema I'm familiar with.

Me too, this is a special case for equal contribution of the first 2 authors, they are considered equal rather than first and second, so having both names show on print honors the equivalence of authorship. It is done in the sciecntific field
