Log out from Zotero Standalone

After I put my credentials in Zotero Standalone to sync two computers, I want to log out from one of the two and use the library of a different account. Is it possible?
  • The best way to currently do this is to use different Zotero profiles. Basically they work the same way as Firefox profiles: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
although you have to use the filepath to Zotero (instead of just firefox) in the command line.

Beyond that, this will be easier in the forthcoming version 5.0, but if you´ll frequently want to use different accounts on the same computer, profiles will still be the most convenient sollution.
  • I have version 5.0.54 and there is no logout button. I have the option of closing or exiting out of Zotero. I started a new account and I log onto it. I try to add citations there but they are not added. I open the standalone box and my other account with all the citations is there, but not the new account or its citations. When I try to save citations to the new account through Firefox a dialog box opens with my old account folders.
  • If you want to run two parallel accounts, using multiple profiles is still your best bet:

You can unlink an account in Zotero and remove personal data, but that's for a scenario where you're on a public workstation, say, rather than wanting to switch between two accounts locally.
