Harvard Style

Dear Community,

I used the Harvard citation style in my document.
However, I don't think, that Zotero has implied any order in my references: Sometimes the most recent work is at the beginning and sometimes it's in chronological order and sometimes there seems to be no order at all!
(by contrast, APA orders chronologically)

Can someone help?

Many thanks
Anna
  • There is no "the" Harvard citation style.
https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/harvard_style So APA is a Harvard style and, as you note sorts chronologically, whereas the Eslevier Harvard style that ships with Zotero sorts alphabetically.

Yet others (including, I believe "Harvard 1") don't impose any sort order.

If you're using a particular Harvard style and it's not sorting as noted in the respective manual (and again, every "Harvard" manual is different), let us know.
  • Thanks so much!

Where can I see in the repository how the in-text referencing looks like?
I just see the bibliography in the repository, isn't it?

    Many thanks
    Anna
  • Actually, I search for a style that take only little space in the text (use of "et al"; "&" instead of "and") and that shows the full journal names in the bibliography.

    Do you have any recommendations?
  • Clay Minerals or Decision Sciences?
    Beyond that, try http://editor.citationstyles.org/searchByExample/
  • Clay Minerals is perfect!
But how to get rid of this italics of "et al"?

Or is there the Harvard Reference format 1 (author-date) in an ordered version?

    Thanks so much!!
