adding LCSH and genre to a style

Hello,

I'm wondering if there's a way to add LCSH and genre headings to a style, specifically Chicago style. I know that subject and genre headings are added as tags upon import. I haven't been able to find how to edit a style to include tags.

Thanks,

  • Not possible, sorry -- tags aren't passed on to the citation style processor. What's the use case more specifically? Maybe there's a workaround.
  • We're trying to create a bibliography which will include local call numbers, subject headings, and genre headings. We've exported the records from our OPAC into Zotero. The bibliography will be over 600 titles.

I found the Chicago Library list citation which will include call numbers. The only thing I can think of doing is copying and pasting the headings.

    Thanks!
  • it'd be doable to do a custom import --> citation style with relatively little work. Import the LCSHs into the extra field in Zotero in the format you want them displayed, then add that field to the citation style in Zotero. The latter takes 5mins for a non-coder, the former 5mins for someone who knows her way around javascript, probably 30mins for someone who has to figure out more.
  • I'm not sure how to do a custom import. Is there step-by-step documentation somewhere? I should note that I'm not a programmer.

    Thanks,

    Brian
