Sorting items to export

I am adapting a csv translator for our website. I want the items sorted as they will be displayed later, but existing translators seem to use a default sorting order that is independant from the order items are displayed in Zotero.
Is there a way to specify a custom order (year of publication and autor would be ideal) in the csv.js ?

    Sorting csv after you export seems like it'd be very easy, no?

    It sure is, but I need an automatic workflow, because I can't trust my users to handle a csv file. An Excel macro could do the job, but it's not able to re-export the csv in the format I want (with pipes).
    Any suggestions welcome though !
    I would have thought that the order of exported records is a fairly important issue for translators.

    I don't believe there is an easy way to specify the export sort order and since these are metadata formats, it's also not generally important how they're sorted.
    Citation styles, of course, can be sorted pretty much any way you want.
