Retrieve Metadata from pdf function not visible

Hello all,
To my suprise i could not find the 'metadata from pdf' function after right clicking on a saved pub-med web page/article. I only end up having a zotero library full with links to the pub-med page but not the pdf's.
Is there a way to install this plugin? I have downloaded the zotero application on my macbook a month ago or so.

    "Retrieve Metadata from PDF" only appears on top-level PDF attachments — that is, PDFs that you save directly or that you drag out from under other items.

    But it might help to explain what you're trying to do with a specific example, including a URL — there's a good chance you're not using things as intended, and we might be able to give you some pointers.
