weird bug

Complicated to explain, so bear with me!
I'm pulling articles into Zotero from Ebscohost (my university's library search host). I have a list of results from the search I just ran.
I have just noticed that when I right-click on a link for one of the results and open it in a new tab (leaving the list of results open in the original tab) Zotero will download the reference just fine (using the zotero icon for a single reference, in the address bar).
But, when I click directly on the result, opening it *in place* of the original list of results, Zotero won't pull it - it gives me the Could Not Save Item error.

Any idea why that's happening?

    Tried to replicate this error but without success: Ran an search query on Ebscohost, opened article inplace and hit the "Save to Zotero (EBSCOhost)" icon in the url bar. The article was saved without erros in my library, whereas the pdf file for the particular article was not retrieved.
