News for Mac Word 2004?

Are there any news on the possibility to use Mac Word 2004 with the new beta 1.5 release?
I would like to test the data sharing abilities in my institute, unfortunately we all are using Word 2004.

I have no specific knowledge, but if you do a little searching on the forums, you'll realize that, because of changes MS made, the Word plugins are effectively two separate code bases. This makes it hard for them to maintain and enhance both.

You might consider trying OpenOffice; it's free, and the 3.0 version is actually quite nice on OS X these days.

Thanks for your comment, but I am trying to convince my colleagues to use Zotero. And changing to OpenOffice seems to big a step. So I will still use 1.0 and wait either for the Word 2004 Plugin or an upgrade to Word 2008 in my institute.
