Emptying Trash

My account will not sync because their are too many items in trash. However, when I try to empty my trash the system shuts down and Mozilla is not responding. Is there anything I can do to resolve this so I can sync my Zotero to the cloud?
  • As a suggestion you might try changing the value for 'Automatically remove items in the trash deleted more than <xxx> days ago' under the General tab within Zotero Preferences to 0 and then re-start Zotero.
