Library of Congress not working (in Zotero)

If I perform a search on the Library of Congress website, click the folder icon to import multiple citations, select several citations (or select all), and then click "Ok", I see the saving notification on the lower right of my screen ... but the selected citations are never exported into my Zotero. (I am using standalone version). Please advise.
  • could we get
    1) the exact browser and Zotero version you're using
    2) a sample URL
    3) the URL of the search page you're using (LoC has a couple of different interfaces; I want to be sure I'm looking at the same one)
    4) a sample search term you've tried.
  • Sorry for the late reply on this. I tried this originally at work, and find the same at home:

    1)Browser: Firefox 47.0
Zotero standalone: 4.0.29.10 (with add-on for Firefox, of course)

2)By sample URL, do you mean this(?): https://catalog.loc.gov/vwebv/search?searchArg=Mohamed+Dib&searchCode=GKEY%5E*&searchType=0&recCount=25&sk=en_US

This is the search results page. From this page, I click on the Zotero folder icon (Save to Zotero Library Catalog(Voyager 7), and then select the items I wish to save/export to Zotero

I then see a "saving" indication, but the entries never make into Zotero (not into unfiled items, or "my library")

3)the URL of the search page: https://catalog.loc.gov/

4)Sample search term: "Mohamed Dib" (without quotes)

    thank you
  • Odd, that works for me. It reliably fails for you?
Does the title of the items in question show up in the "Saving to Zotero" pop-up?
  • Yes - it does reliably fail, curiously. The titles of the items don't show up in the Saving to Zotero pop-up. (I just tried it again.) Any advice would be appreciated.
  • could we get an error report ID right after this?
    https://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_problems
Also, if you click through to an item and try to save that, does that work?
  • I just tried clicking through to an item and then adding it (the "add"icon correctly changes from a folder to a book, but that doesn't work. Could it be that one of my add blockers is interfering? I'll disable them and then try it again. if it doesn't work, I'll file an error report.
  • standard adblock plus isn't a problem, but could be that something else is, yes.
  • ERROR ID: 1208351811

I am unable to import references from the Lib. of Congress:

  • @Dan -- could you check the error report?
  • Adam, any update on this? (i don't expect resolution, but just wish for confirmation that my question wasn't user error). Thanks
  • I need Dan on this; he'll hopefully see this and reply.

That error report was from Standalone — we need it from the connector for this. It's not possible to generate a Report ID from Zotero for Firefox in connector mode, but you can close Standalone and try saving with Zotero for Firefox in full mode. If that doesn't work either, we can look at a Report ID from that.
