Possible to overcome note syncing limitations?

I was hoping to use Zotero as an all-in-one bibliographic and note-taking tool for a book project. My note taking is notecard style (lots of little notes), and I'm pleased by the tagging and "related" options.

But:
I also often snip images and put them in my notes, and I've started seeing this error message:

"The note 'FILENAME' in your library is too long to sync to zotero.org. Shorten the note, or delete it and empty the Zotero trash, and then try syncing again."

Is there a way to overcome this limitation by upgrading my overall storage? Or am I stuck?
  • Images in notes don't work. Even if you were able to sync the notes, the images will disappear (once the image is removed from the temporary memory of your computer). You need to find another way to attach images to items, sorry.
  • Thank you, Adam Smith.

Since it is possible to attach files, perhaps I'll just use MS Word files and attach them, treating them like notes. Won't be as speedy, but will retain the valuable tagging, related to, etc.
  • Hello, I'm encountering the same problem, without images--simply text. Is there a text limit in syncing notes, and can this be overcome? I primarily use Zotero for organizing notes (which tend to be quite long) and I want to be able to sync these between two computers (so I can take notes on one text on two computers).

So (to reiterate), can the text limit to length in notes be overcome?
  • No it can't, but are you sure? The character limit on a note is 100,000 -- that would be a truly epic note (I think that's something like 35 single spaced pages).
  • (65K, I think, but still.)
