Importing to MSWord: no proper citation

I've just begun to use Zotero, but I must be getting something wrong. When I use the "import citation" button in MS Word (2003) I get only the author's name in brackets, like (Shakespeare), no citation. Can anyone help?

    Thanks. That seems to have worked. Now, is there any way of importing citations from "Citation" into Zotero?

    I don't know Citation, but does it have an export function? Maybe to endnote? That would work...
    they say they export to:
    "Endnote Refer
    ProCite
    RIS (Reference Manager)"

    I would recommend trying the first and then importing using: preferences -> import


    as for citations - as further explantions - some styles require author - date in brackets and then have a bibliography in the back - you can get that by using "creat bibliography" in word.
