How to show date in same format in middle column?

I have Firefox v43 with the Zotero plugin. When I display the Zotero pane at the bottom of my browser screen there is a middle pane. In the middle pane I show the date published, the title of the article, and creator/author. The date sorts fine but the dates are all in different formats.

How can I show this date in the middle pane always in the same format?
