no response when clicking "insert citation" in openoffice 3.0

I am trying to use Zotero in openoffice in ubuntu.

My installation:
Ubuntu 8.10
Openoffice 3.0.1
Firefox 3.0.6
Zotero add-on in firefox: 1.0.9
Zotero extension for openoffice: v1.0b4

OK. I installed the Zotero extension in openoffice well, it's fine, I can see the buttons on the toolbar. My problem is: when I clicked the "insert citation", openoffice will end with no response for long time, until I have to kill the process. I tried many times, all with firefox open.

Zetero works well in firefox itself. So, I guess it might be because the communication of Zetero(in openoffice) and zetero in firefox. I googled this problem, but did not find any direct help.

Can anyone here help me?

    There seems to be a problem with zotero openoffice-plugins and openoffice 3.01. I can't even reinstall the plugin (2.02a) in openoffice 3.01
