Syncing occurred error, all references can not be opened

Report ID: 123149946

After my computer system (windows) was reinstalled, all references in zotero can not be opened. I tried to reinstalled zotero, but it still doesn't work. And I logined my library on zotero official website, all of my references are still can be downloaded. I don't know why they can not be opened in zotero software.

Please, anybody help me? I rely on zotero to write, read and do everything that I need. I really don't want to lose this amazing software.
  • Are the items visible in the Zotero client, or are they missing from the local library?
  • What do you mean "the local library"? They are visible in Zotero client.
  • Just whether the items were visible in the client. It will help to have more information. What happens when you try to open an item?
  • "This file can not be opened. It may have been removed or deleted from outside the Zotero." But I still can find these references on the official website of Zotero.
  • Ah, okay. In Preferences -> Sync, what is your setting for the two "Sync attachment files" options?

(If those are unticked, Zotero won't sync attachments, although the record will show that an attachment exists, and throw that error if you try to open them. I normally tick both, and select "as needed" as the sync-down mode, so that my systems aren't deluged with massive numbers of attachment downloads at sync time.)

If you have those items ticked, and attachments still aren't showing up in the client, we'll have to think further.
  • Thank you for your patient explanation. I did what you said. But this error information was still showed up as follow:
"The attached file could not be found. It may have been moved or deleted outside of Zotero."

I'm in China. And my references are almost 300M. Do you think this is the reason lead to sync error? Since the Zotero server is located in another country and so much references.
  • See the end of that page, which includes steps to generate information we need to help further.
