Lost Library after Firefox upgrade

I am trying to help someone who upgraded their Firefox browser and then discovered that their library is missing. They are able to login to their online Zotero account and the library is there. I have searched the forum and found this link describing possible solutions. Some of them seem pretty complicated. As we work through the various troubleshooting measures---is the online Library safe from deletion? Should a backup of the data files be done?

I doubt this person changed any of the default data storage directories. I suspect it might be an issue with the profile. Is it safe to just try a sync?

as long as the online library is present, I'd just sync and you'll be done (and yes, it's safe).
