Changing Primary Email

In the next 2 months, I will be leaving my institution. I would like to change my primary email address to my personal email. My institutional address was used to start the account (verified) but will be discontinued soon. Help?

under https://www.zotero.org/settings/account, add at least one other e-mail, verify it, then make that the primary e-mail.

i attempted to add another e-mail and it appeared to not work. Let me share with you what you must do.

First...when you hit the button, verify all emails, the email is sent to junk-email.

Second, you can not verify with the zotero email in that folder as that folder removes critical code that is attached to it.

YOu must move the email to your inbox...whereupon the critical code is restored to the original email that had been deposited into the junk email.

clicking on the email in the inbox does activate the verify procedure. in fact, a "success" message did appear for a brief moment in my email application.

i went back to zotero account on the web and the verified radio button was still not active.

it could have been just a delay in their server.

but somewhere i read to go to the preferences page of the standalone and do something...can't remember what it was....which i did....

then when i went back to the account web page I finally saw the verified was active.


I then tried to delete the unwanted email account. it did not work until i hit verify emails...at which time the delete button finally worked.

my steps are not told to you exactly as I did them. but you will find a way to make it work. either delays on zotero's site or poor programming that requires steps that are not in view when one requests an action...are the major culprit that turns an easy simple task into a challenge.
