Zotero Firefox update not work

An update to 4.0.29.2 has not worked. I've followed all the troubleshooting advice on the website and had no luck. I have No Z button to click on and therefore no access to my library or using zotero on firefox browser.

Can anyone help?

    I've done all of that four times. Nothing is working!

    Right, but we can't help you without more information.

    Is Zotero 4.0.29.2 showing in the Firefox Add-ons -> Extensions pane?

    OK, and have you looked in the Customize pane for other Zotero icons?

    If you have, and they're not there, see Reporting Startup Errors and check the Browser Console for Zotero-related errors.

    What version of Firefox are you running? What OS?

    Actually, don't worry about the console. Pretty sure the answer here is going to be that you're running Firefox 31 ESR, which is well out of date, no longer supported by Mozilla, and shouldn't be used. You should upgrade to Firefox 45 (which is also available in ESR form as of yesterday, though Firefox 38 ESR would also work).

    Yup. You need to upgrade Firefox.
