Saving reference to your online account

I use Zotero on my laptop and have generated a library on that laptop.I also have this online account / library. How can i add a reference from my university library computer to my online zotero account/ library so that later on it can be added to my library on my laptop by synchronization?
  • You can add them manually, of course.
You can also use the bookmarklet: https://www.zotero.org/downloadbookmarklet
though make sure that you log out of Zotero if this is a public computer. Note this will only work on supported pages, i.e. you can't just take a snapshot.
  • Hi,I used to have the download icon at the toolbar from Firefox but now it has disappeared. And I can't reinstall the bookmarklet via https://www.zotero.org/downloadbokmarklet as mentioned above. Does anyone have an idea/suggestion?
  • Astrid -- run through https://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues and start a new thread with all info requested und 11 is 1-10 don't work.
  • Astrid -- you didn't say so but if you are using Firefox on a tablet you will not see an icon. If you are using Firefox on a laptop or desktop with Zotero installed you shouldn't need the bookmarklet. Lately, many journal publishers present web pages specifically designed for tablet viewing and, in my experience, the bookmarklet fails for these. (The translators for the regular site do not work with the tablet-formatted site and the metadata in the webpage headers differs in completeness.) For some publishers you can break away from the tablet format by setting your browser to request the desktop version. Alas, this doesn't succeed for many publishers.
