Linking chapters in a collection

edited August 8, 2017
I am used to working with biblatex files directly. I like to use the 'crossref' field and have the various chapters in a volume as @incollection types which link to one @collection. This is nice because if I realise that there's a typo in e.g. the collection's editor it can be changed once rather than in each collection. Am I right in thinking that Zotero doesn't have the equivalent of this linking of entries?
  • that's correct, yes. You can connect them using the "Related" feature, but that has no impact on citations, doesn't allow you to do the type of bulk fixes you're describing, nor does it affect BibLaTeX export.

This used to be planned and I think it still is in very general terms (the language used is hierarchical item types), but it's low on the list of priorities, so I'd expect years before implementation.
  • Thanks. It's not the kind of thing that will put me off.
