Saving edited PDFs from Zotero
I note some older threads on this. For some time I've wanted to open saved PDFs in the Zotero environment, highlight and add comments, then save them directly with the item they are attached to. Instead I have to "Save as...", rename, and add the annotated version manually. I note that Papership will do this on my iPad, but my normal research is done on a PC.
Is there a PC plugin, workaround or workflow that anyone uses? If PDFs can be annotated and directly saved in Papership, why not in Zotero?
Many thanks!
Mark.

adamsmithYou can do that in regular Zotero -- just open the file with your PDF reader of choice (e.g. using "open with external viewer", annotate, and save to the same locations, overwriting the existing file. Most programs (Foxit, pdfXchange) make that easy/automatic (i.e. you just click the save button and you're done). For newer Acrobat versions, you have to modify the preferences (I think uncheck "show online storage when saving files" under "General".)
