set up delimiter-precedes-last for different locale

I need set up delimiter-precedes-last to "conceptual" for english version of style and to "never" for czech version of style. Is it possible sut-up this in one style template? Now I have two templates: one for english documents and one for czech documents.
  • no, that's not possible. I agree we should probably localize that in CSL.
  • @LiborA, is a preceding delimiter grammatically wrong in Czech, or is this just a case of where the English and Czech versions of a style guide have slight (arbitrary) variations?
  • @Rintze : "," before "a" (that is "and" in English) is grammatically wrong in common situation in Czech. In Czech we have some cases where we write "," before "a" but that is not in this case. Names are always without comma before "a": "Peter a Martin ", "Peter, John a Martin" etc.

Yes, this comma before "and" in an enumeration might be grammatically wrong in a lot of languages, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_comma#Other_languages (e.g. wrong also in German).

@zuphilip: thanks, that is very interesting link. Czech grammar for this situation can be found on Internet Language Reference Book of The Institute of the Czech Language of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic: http://prirucka.ujc.cas.cz/?id=153

First sentence: The general rule is that the comma before "and" was not written when it comes to merging ratio. If it is a connection other than a merging ratio, comma before "and" is wrote.
  • Please help, I prepared style for articles in English, but I got error message from Travis:

    1) The CSL Style Repository may not contain any (non-excepted) duplicate ISSNs
  • yes, we can fix that for you.
  • Thanks, have I something to do now?
  • no, just hold on, we'll do this within a day or two and your build will then pass.
