DBLP Translator not downloading PDFs

I just downloaded about 75 references from DBLP using the zotero chrome plugin. The references showed up in my library fine, and I can double-click on them in the standalone zotero client and it opens it in the browser (sometimes the PDF directly, sometimes e.g. the IEEE Xplore site or wherever the paper came from).

The problem is that none of the references were imported with the PDFs attached. I think this is a problem specifically with the DBLP translator because I do get PDFs using other sites.

Two questions:

1. Is there a setting I need to set to make sure it downloads the PDFs by default?
2. Now that I have all these references, is there a way to bulk-download the PDFs and associate them with the references?

Thanks!
  • the translator isn't programmed to download PDFs and at least where it links out to other sites like IEEE that' just not possible. What's an example (URL) where you can get right to the PDF from the DBLP entry?
  • Please note that DBLP is a bibliographic, open database and not publishing itself papers, i.e. they are collecting bibliographic metadata from diverse sources and provide that aggregated and processed data. Thus, I doubt that you will find any/many direct pdf links in DBLP. (Moreover, if the one-click in your example will download all 75 papers, that is maybe a lot of internet traffic and we are not sure if people always really want them.)
