Style Error: [The Geological Society of America]

For book sections, the Geological Society of America wants the book volume number in the citation. Their reference style guide is in a pdf here:
http://www.geosociety.org/pubs/documents/GSA_RefGuide_Examples_000.pdf

Here are two of their examples from the PDF:
Elburg, M.A., Smet, I., and De Pelsmaeker, E., 2014, Influence of
source materials and fractionating assemblage on magmatism
along the Aegean Arc, and implications for crustal growth, in
Gómez-Tuena, A., Straub, S.M., and Zellmer, G.F., eds.,
Orogenic Andesites and Crustal Growth: Geological Society,
London, Special Publication 385, p. 137–160,
doi:10.1144/SP385.1.

Sawyer, D.S., Buffler, R.T., and Pilger, R.H., 1991, The crust
under the Gulf of Mexico basin, in Salvador, A., ed., The Gulf
of Mexico Basin: Boulder, Colorado, Geological Society of
America, Geology of North America, v. J, p. 53–72.

Note the volume numbers, 385 and J, in each example.

Note that this error applies to all the Geological Society of America journal citation styles, which includes:
1. The Geological Society of America
2. Geological Society of America Bulletin
3. Geology
4. Lithosphere
5. Geosphere
6. GSA Today

Thanks to anyone who can fix this!
  • The style is now fixed. The updated version will appear on the repository within 30mins (check the timestamp). Update your copy of the style by clicking "Update Now" in the General tab of the Zotero preferences.

Styles also update automatically within 24hs for Zotero 4.0+
In an existing document, you may have to switch to a different style and back for the changes to take effect once the style is updated.
Any further problems please let us know & thanks for reporting
  • (note that it will always prefix "v. " for volumes. The 395 in your example, in my reading of the style, is a series number and not a volume number. Zotero handles it correctly if input as such.
