AEAweb translator not working
The AEA Web translator is not importing records from Google Chrome into Zotero Standalone on my Dell E7240, Chrome 48, Zotero 4.0.28
Steps to reproduce:
(1) Visit https://www.aeaweb.org/articles.php?doi=10.1257/aer.101.7.3130
(2) Translator icon for AEA Web appears correctly, click it.
(3) Pop-up appears in bottom-right of screen, then closes quickly.
(4) Nothing is imported into Zotero standalone.
I have updated all translators. It seems like the translator finishes it's job, but no record is created.

zuphilipIt seems for me that the "Export Citation" on that page is not working anymore. Do you know if that happens on other AEAweb pages as well? Do you have access to the papers? (Maybe it is also different if one has access to the papers.)
-
DerekwolfsonIt seems broken on all AEAweb pages. I have access to the papers and the problem persists whether I am on VPN or not.
-
zuphilipOkay, can you contact AEA and tell them that their export is broken and ask to fix that?

adamsmithunfortunately this changed. They now require a key to download the RIS. We can grab it, but it'd be two requests and some extra work and right now it looks to me like just grabbing the embedded metadata would work great. @zuphilip does that sound right to you?

zuphilipedited February 26, 2016Hm.. I don't think we have to change to EM. I think we can grab the data from the request which proceed normally the final one, e.g. https://www.aeaweb.org/content/articles/include/file_export.php?doi=10.1257/aer.101.7.3130&format=ris (see my PR on github)

adamsmithgood call, I missed that. Thanks for double checking. This should now work again after you update your translators from the general tab of the preferences.
