Zotero Standalone not working with Safari

The Zotero Connector wasn't working on my Safari toolbar so I uninstalled Zotero standalone and reinstalled. The reinstallation went fine, but I do not have the extension now. I have an iMac and OS X El Capitan, 10.11.3.
