Problem with Zotero word plugin

Hi
I'm using mac-pro notebook and parallel desktop software where I installed windows 10 and Microsoft office 365 pro plus.
Zotero word plugin stop working: word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Firefox is running and try again.
Help please....

    you also have Zotero for Windows (or FF for Windows with Zotero) installed on the parallel Desktop?

    I have FF with Zotero on the parallel desktop.

    I also have FF with Zotero installed on OSX.

    I'd want to hear from Dan to see if there are known issues running the Word plugin in a VM environment, which is certainly possible.

    If you want to try some things in the meantime, start by reinstalling Word components from the Cite tab of the Zotero preferences (in Windows) and check through these:

    I'm not aware of any issues running under a VM, though I don't have a copy of Word for Windows myself. I imagine that's how Simon develops the plugin, though.

    Many thanks adamsmith and Dan for your followup. I reinstalled Zotero world plugin and it's now working fine. However, I must keep FF running on the VM while using word to be able to insert citations and bibliography.

    yes, that makes sense. You wouldn't be able to use Mac Zotero to communicate with Word for Windows on a VM. Glad you have it working.
