ASCE translator does not grab author names

Example: http://ascelibrary.org/doi/abs/10.1061/%28ASCE%29TE.1943-5436.0000819

When I add it to my Zotero Firefox library, I noticed these issues:

1. Author names were not pulled in

2. The word Abstract was added to the start of the abstract text.

3. Captures the print ISSN but no the online ISSN. Might not be an issue; thought I'd report because I have seen both included for other journal entries.

Should this thread be under the "Site Translators" category?
  • I'll take a look.
Forum categories don't matter that much (especially beyond Citation Styles and Website), though yes, technically speaking this would be in the translator section.
  • does this work on ASCE in general?
On that particular page, the issue is that the bibtex is completely broken (see also the garbage date, issue, and volume). We could switch to RIS, but there's likely a reason we went with bibtex in the first place.
  • Seems to work elsewhere:

    http://ascelibrary.org/doi/10.1061/%28ASCE%29TE.1943-5436.0000547

    http://ascelibrary.org/doi/10.1061/%28ASCE%290733-9372%282003%29129%3A2%28162%29

So, I guess, no fix required?
  • It'd be great if you could e-mail them and ask them to fix it. Don't mention Zotero, just tell them their bibtex export on that page appears to be broken (that's download citations (under article tools) --> Bibtex.

Email sent to ascelibrary@asce.org. Thanks for looking into this.

I noticed that the issue is (probably) limited to their Just Released items, and have mentioned that in my email.
  • Response from ASCE Customer Service, Journal Subscriptions:

"Thank you for contacting ASCE and bringing this to our attention. Your email has been forwarded to our publications department so that this issue can be investigated and remedied as soon as possible."
