Exporting citations in a language that differs from zotero

There used to be a way to make zotero use english in citations and bibliography, although the zotero UI _and_ the citation style was in german.
The trick was to open about:config and search for "extensions.zotero.export.bibliographyLocale" and choosing en-US as the language.
Now I can't find that entry in about:config any more. Is there another way to achieve this now?

Yes, it's just an option in the respective dialogs now.

Oh. Our self-programmed citation style doesn't allow us to change the language, the pulldown-menu is deactivated...

that _should_ never have worked, if it did it was a bug (and I think it may well have been, I remember something like that). The whole point of default-locale in the style header is to make sure the style is _always_ in the chosen language. If you don't want that, remove the default locale from that style. It will still default to German for German versions of Zotero, but now you'll have a choice.

hm...strange, because I'm sure I learned about that hack on the zotero website. But I understand that we have to reprogram our style.
