Deleting Records Causes Error

I just posted a comment on this forum under "Sync Stops."

Because Sync stopped, I wanted to experiment. So I exported my entire database and then deleted all the records. I wanted to see if anything showed up when I synced. Nothing did.

So then I tried to restore the database. It probably worked OK, but I didn't notice that instead of highlighting "My Library," I had an Import folder highlighted instead. When I only saw one item in the database, I thought something had gone wrong with the import. So I deleted the one item showing and imported the backup file again. Then I saw the error of my ways and highlighted "My Library," and sure enough the records were back. Only this time, they were all duplicates! So I decided to erase them all again and to reimport from the backup, only this time not to screw up and look in the My Library folder. However, whenever (and I've tried this 3+ times now, including reinstalling the Zotero extension) I try to delete the data, Zotero throws an error and asks me to restart Firefox.

I can't fix the library, I can't sync, yuk!
