Sync error log D245940393

Hello everybody, I keeep having ttoulbe wicht syncing. Here´s the Log:
D245940393
It appears to be and PDF issue. After reinstalling the browser extension it had worked for a day or so, now again it fials.
Please helpp, am in the middle of a project...
  • NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED

    C:\Zotero PDF´s\storage\2JG5DF6T\[...].pdf
This is likely due to either permissions in your Zotero directory or security software on your system interfering with Zotero's ability to access those files. Small chance it's due to that diacritical (´) in the path, but that's less likely.

    Thank you for the reply.
I have changed the folder settings to free for all (but I am the only user anyway...)
I use windows defender as security software. i am not aware of any specific settings like allow zoterot to do this and that.
By the way, the Firefox extension does work and it does sync. What does that tell me?
    What should I do next?
    Thanks for helping
  • You can try temporarily disabling your security software to determine if that's what's causing the problem.
  • Unfortunatley, that did not solve the Problem.. In the eantime I have had an syncing error in the Firfox extension as well, promting me to reset the database using a full reset sync. I did that, using the local database to reset the cloud database. After that, the stand alone did sync for some 20 minutes or so, then displaying the same error as before. I relally do need help eith taht, as I am apporaching a submisssion deadline for a manuscript.
Thanks to all who read and reply.

  • This is a permissions issue on your computer, and there's nothing Zotero itself can do about the error, which just means it can't access the necessary files. If you've disabled any software you think might be causing this, you'd have to check permissions within your data directory. How you do that depends on your OS and isn't really something we can help you with here — Zotero just needs to be able to access files within the data directory.
  • (note, though, that data sync comes after file sync, so apart from access to those files, there shouldn't be anything stopping you from finishing your project).
  • Well, I see that this is no Zotero malfunction. Still I would have hoped that someone did encounter the same problem before and found a way.
I found that Adam is right, though. Autoo sync stpos and needs to be restarted manuallly, thne it does work as far as writing the paper is ocncerned. This is only a PDF issue and manually syncing does it for now. Thank you,
    Nicholas
