No sync of older library content

Dear community,

my library is only being synced with material I'm just adding. Initially, after I signed up, nothing was synced from my library. After I'm adding things now, the new stuff is being synced but not the older things.

Does anybody know how I can solve this?

Cheer,
Jonas
  • Could you describe how you're observing this exactly, so we can make sense of what's not syncing to where?
  • I had things in my mozilla library and different things in my online library (from a previous, older project).

After I did backup the things from the old project, I synced and deleted the stuff from the old project in the mozilla library (I don't know if my things from the current project were being uploaded, however the stuff online was being downloaded to mozilla).

So what was left was the things I'm working on right now.

When I tried to sync then, nothing happened. The online library remained empty. Things I added later, however, is being added to the online library.

I hope, this is more understandable.
  • Yes; if that's indeed what's going on that would be extremely odd. As far as I'm aware, it is technically impossible to partially sync your library.

How are you checking on the presence/absence of items in your Zotero online library?
Are you syncing this to any other computer?

    I check by calling "https://www.zotero.org/99spinz/items/"
There are 8 items listed. In my mozilla it is 19.

No, I'm syncing just to one computer.

The stuff I deleted was quite a lot. Around 50 contents. Something might got screwed then.
  • Have you tried emptying your Zotero trash? Not sure how that'd help, but it might.

When you hover over the sync icon in Ztero (the round green arrow at the top right) what does it say?
  • It works now, at my home. Before, I was at the University when it didn't. Maybe, there was a Firewall block or something else.
    Thank you for your support!
  • For other people having this problem:
The problem was mozilla. A new, clean set-up of mozilla solved the problem.
