Search within documents

Seemingly Zotero can search for strings within saved documents, even PDF. Finding that your search sting is somewhere in a 20 page document is frustrating. an Zotero point out where in the document the search string is to be found?

  • Not currently, no. It's generally planned to show search snippets, but my guess is that it's still a good bit away.
  • Zotero users might find Hugo add-on very useful for searching within collection documents.

    Results open in browser sidebar.
  • Hmm, Well thanks.I'm using Zotero FreeStanding with Chrome. I don't imagine any easy integration. I should have taken notes, while I read.

  • (interestingly all these new spam accounts like rimmelas and krilin1248 seem to post exactly 19hs after they're created...)
  • (That's a bug in the Vanilla date display, I think — I believe they're actually posting immediately after joining.)
  • Continuing with the theme of search tools ...

In an experiment I ran Advanced Search in the Zotero standalone (running on Ubuntu 14.04 with Chrome) with the aim of parsing the search bibliography to apply concordance tool to the corpus of links parsed from the search output.

    See TextSTAT tool here ...

However rather oddly the saved file (which I intend to parse to extract URL's) has full stops scattered throughout.

Is this a bug in Save Search method?
