Subsequent footnote not as ibid but with thier short titles

Every time I use the same source, zotero is using 'ibid.' I tried entering short title in the bibliographical data in Zotero but still it is the same. How to have a short title as the subsequent footnote of the same source?

  • use a no ibid style, e.g. one of these

  • I am using Society of Biblical literature style. Do we have 'no ibid' style for the same?
  • no, sorry. It is my understanding that SBL generally endorses ibid. If you don't want it, you'd have to tweak the style yourself.
  • May I know how to tweak the style?
  • general instructions and some tools are here.

May I ask, though, why you want to? As per the above, I do believe that SBL still does use ibid (since they follow the Chicago manual in most general questions). See e.g. the exchange here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/11114/no-ibid-for-sbl-style/ While this does refer to the 1st edition, there is no notion of any of this changing indicated for the 2nd edition.
  • Thank you for your help. I do understand SBL uses ibid. However, recently in theological academic papers, ibid is not being used. That is the reason why I am interested to change the style. Secondly, SBL does use short titles but not as a subsequent footnote.

Sorry, this I don't understand. DO you have an example?
