Upgrade StorageImport function on Zotpress disappeared

My colleagues and I experienced some major problems on our wordpress website, where we used to reference with the zotpress plug-in. After updating to the latest Zotpress version yesterday (but we don't know if it installed correctly (no option to re- install)), we are not able to import any references in Zotpress (import button seems to be missing) AND on the website one could only see a "spinning mechanical wheel" instead of the reference "[1]" for example and the same icon is displayed instead of the bibliography. As of now, you can't see any references at all, even if the code is in the actual text. Please let me know if there's something I can do to fix it.
