[Juris-M] SYnc fails witout error ...can't submit debug

After a clean install of os x el capitan 10.11.1 i installed Firefox 41.0.2 and jurism-m 4.0.28.7m46.
FF sync set up fine, and connection to my webdav server is verified. The initial sync downloaded a all reference items, and dummies icons for my attachments (pdfs). However, when i want to view a pdf it cannot be located.

This is on a clean system. The permissions for the storage and profile folders are fine (read&write).

i have no security or virus scanning software installed.

Syncing doesn't report an error. I checked system A and the files are there, sync proceeds without errors.
I checked the webdav server, and the files are there.
Yet System B doesn't download them, nor does it create a sync error.

I've reset attachment syncing on System A and B, (restarted a couple of times for good measure). But to no avail, no files are being downloaded. System B has about 100mb in ints storage location (most likely from group libraries which are synced via zotero servers), but it should be downloading 10GB from the webdav server.

Lastly, I generated a debug output (nothing in there that I would recognince as proboematic). But when I try to submit a debug output to zotero servers i get:

Error

Invalid response from server.

any help would be greatly appreciated, I m thinking of manually moving the 10gb from storage a to b, but maybe somebody has an idea of what is going wrong.

I am now seeing an Error:
Downloaded ZIP file not found in Zotero.Sync.Storage._processDownloadedZip()

    still no attachments.

since i can't submit the error message here it is:

  • More fun .

After manually replacing system b's storage folder with a copy from system a. I checked for db integrity (all clear) and created a dummy item with attachment. And checked back on System a.

the sync is actually working as expected now, but I keep getting the above mentioned "download zip" error.

So from no error, and silently failing sync, I ve now gone
to weird error message, but silently working sync.

Something is acting up, but god knows what and why.
  • The "defined entity" errors at startup need to be fixed, but should not be relevant to sync.

To identify whether this is a Juris-M error, try syncing System B with a Zotero client -- the systems are sync-compatible. If the file downloads come through cleanly, we have a problem in Juris-M. If it fails with the same error, Dan may be able to provide a hint as to the source of the problem.
  • Hello Frank,

I have a deadline coming up, but i ll set up a standard zotero on a guest account on system b and see what happens.

this won't happen before sunday though, i ll report back here.
