Allowing a citation to be reused multiple times in a paper

I've been having trouble trying to make a bibliography that follows the scientific format where each reference is assigned a citation number based on chronological order of it's first use. So that I can have citation one referenced multiple times in a paper without multiple bibliography entries. I've watched the videos, and they didn't seem to cover it either. I'm also new to the format so maybe they're all supposed to get a citation number every time they're referenced?

Thanks for your help
  • Check the pre-installed Vancouver or nature styles, which do just that.
  • Most numeric styles should behave in the way that you describe. Are you using either the MS Word or the LibreOffice plugin? Are you sure your Zotero database is free of duplicate records?
  • Thanks! I tried a bunch but I I guess I overlooked that one.
