Hello again lovely Zotero peoples,
So, when I try and add a journal article it looks fine, but then the article does not appear in my library.
Also, up until today, when I added a new article, the right hand side of the Zotero screen showed up with the item so I could change it to sentence case text etc. That has gone - loved that, want it back!!

Any help very very gratefully received.
Amber
  • For the second point, the last item you imported will be automatically selected. I believe that may not be the case when you have never had Zotero open since starting Firefox. You can, of course, simply click on any article in your Zotero database in the middle panel to select it and then edit in the right-hand pane.

On the first issue, we'd need a bit more details. Importing from where? What exactly do you see? How are you telling the article isn't imported?
  • It's like I have another Zotero account somehow and the last 2 things I've tried to save to my library have gone to another Library...I actually saw that library with just those two items (well multiples of each as I was saving them again and agian!)

My Zotero IS open, and I've restarted Firefox, and also Zotero and also Word and also the laptop....

Normal journal import, and it's not showing up in my Library - hence no right hand pane action.
  • Close down Zotero Standalone. In Firefox, by click on the "Z" icon, you can open Zotero in Firefox. Do you see your missing items there?
    If so, see here: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/sharing_data_directory
  • I would love to close down Standalone...HOW PLEASE?? x
  • File --> Exit (or Close, or Quit--whatever it says on Mac).
  • I'm wasting so much time with this....*crying*....Mac is driving me crazy. I literally followed the steps to synch the standalone and the firefox Zoteros, but can't see the correct steps in the Firefox one. Why has this just happened now....??? I just want my library with all my stuff it it back!!!! Can anyone literally/cyberly hold my hand and help me get back up and runnning - I have a piece of work due TODAY (of course!!). Amber x
  • If you just want to work, install the Safari connector (or the Chrome connector) from https://www.zotero.org/download/
and work with that and Standalone and don't use Firefox at all.

I'm happy to try to help you, but if you're on a deadline I recommend dealing with this when you're done and not in a rush.
If/when you want help fixing this, I'd need to know what you've actually done, what you're now seeing, and what you're not finding.
