zotero use results in popup requesting installation of JDK

Using Zotero 4.0.28.7 and firefox 41.0.1 on Mac OS 10.11 whenever I click on a folder or search bar in zotero I get a popup indicating [To use the "java" command-line tool you need to install a JDK]. This might be more of an OS update issue but thought I'd throw it out there. Apple has a legacy Java 6 runtime available at https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=en_US
  • that's really odd. The only place where Zotero uses any Java at all is in the LibreOffice add-on. Do you have that installed?
Any other Zotero-related add-ons in Firefox?
  • Yeah, this is almost certainly some other Zotero-related extension you have installed that uses Java.
  • my best guess would be papermachine--I think that's the only add-on that would try to execute Java in Firefox.
