"Word could not communicate with Zotero" on Mac

So, I've read all the previous discussions on this, but I can't find a solution. Whenever I try to use one of the Zotero buttons on the word toolbar I get the error message: "Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Zotero or Firefox is open and try again."
Obviously I have firefox open while trying this.

Just installed Zotero today, version 4.0.28.3, and Word version 15.13.1

I want so badly to be able to use this.

What OS X version is this? Are you running any security software, or is any part of the system running off a network drive?

And just to confirm, you have version 3.5.12 of the Mac Word integration extension installed in Firefox?

Could you also try the debugging steps here?

That might give us more information on the problem.

I'm running 10.10.5, no security software or network drive, and yep, it's version 3.5.12 of the extension.

I got the debugging ID D1388371643, is that what you were looking for?

Hmm. Which Office installation (Office 365, Home & Student, enterprise, etc.) is this?

Umm, I'm not sure, sorry, I didn't install it. About Word just says "Microsoft Word for Mac"

As far as we know this doesn't happen with a standard Word 2016 installation. If you have any other information on the source of this installation, we can look into it.
