Convenient way of viewing and using tags

When I select a collection, the tag displays only the tags used in that collection (or highlights them in case the option "display all tags in library" is chosen). That is good. If I then go on an select a particular item I would like this principle to be carried further: I would like the tags for that item to be shown in the tag selector. That would make it both easier to see all the tags associated to the item and to select one of the tags to see other items with the same tag. Only when I deselect the item would I again want to see all the tags in the current collection.

If it only showed the tags associated with the selected item, you could never drag items to tags to assign them, which is one of the main functions of the tag selector.
