Zotero automatically keeps track of date added and last date modified for notes. You can view and sort by that data by adding date added and data modified to the center column. Does that take care of your request, or are you thinking of something different?
This relates to some earlier discussions about better note management.
In essence, it would be nice for notes to have a user-definable date field. This would allow for them to be used as a field research diary. Sometimes, a note corresponds to a specific day that is not necessarily the date created or modified (for example, when notes are transcribed).
