Possible to get an existing bibliography into zotero database?

HI--I'm trying to "grab" an web page with a bibliography on it--is this possible? (for later transferral to EndNOte)
  • It is nontrivial to parse traditional bibliographies, even if they are stylized (unless they have embedded metadata). The styling does not usually provide a 1:1 mapping to individual bibliographic fields.

You might contact the creator of the original bibliography to see if they can provide the bibliography in a friendlier format and/or provide a link to the particular bibliography that you want to scrape.
  • Hi jazzygirl,

You can capture a web snapshot of the page to save the bibliography as a item in your collection but if the bibliography is just text you will not be able to automatically import the biblography information into your collection for the reasons noted here. If you want to link the page you are working with I can confirm this.

    Thanks
  • thanks so much!!! here is the link:

  • It looks like this page is just flat text, there is no metadata in there for Zotero to work with. You could try playing around with cb2Bib. But I think the most efficient way would be to manually enter the sources you need into Zotero, or to find them in a library collection or database which has metadata that Zotero recognizes.
