OOo Doesn't recognise Zotero fields from Word doc

I've applied the python patch to get Zotero working with OO 3.0 on the Mac, and it works OK for inserting new refs and creating a bibliography. However, if I create a document in MS Word 2008 and put Zotero refs in it, save it (in Office 97-2004 format), then open it in OOo, the field codes get lost in the conversion - the actual words of the fields are there, but as regular text, not as field codes :(. Any ideas?

    Only bookmarks are transferable between Word and OOo, not fields. (See the message in the document preferences window.)

    Doh! Thanks, I hadn't spotted that one. I've had a quick check with a sample document, and all seems to work ok :).
