Will not sync

I am using zotero standalone on my mac. None of my files have synced since mid-July. There is a red exclamation mark showing an issue with my syncing. I click the sync button to resolve and an alert pops up showing all of the articles that have not synced. The list is long and cuts off. The syncing arrow continues to turn even as the alert is showing. Further, I have to close zotero to get back to being able to access my articles.

Any idea clues to what is happening?

    Try pressing Enter when that pop-up shows up. It's probably telling you that a bunch of items were added or removed from collections and that conflicted with other changes on another computer, so Zotero is keeping all items in all collections. At the bottom of that pop-up is an OK button that you cannot see, but hitting Enter would allow you to proceed.
