Zotero causing Firefox to leak memory like crazy

Recently I've noticed that Firefox is keeping a lot of tabs in memory long after they've been closed. After some troubleshooting, I've determined that the issue only happens with Zotero enabled. Could you please investigate this?

    I notice this issue has been fixed in git (https://github.com/zotero/zotero/issues/810). Would it be possible to push the fix to release? I consider this bug to be a major issue and requires Zotero to be disabled for normal browsing functionality.
