Upgrade StorageSAGE Vancouver misbehaving with 'et al' in bibliography

I'm using the standard SAGE Vancouver style which is supposed to list up to 6 authors of a 7+ authored paper and then put 'et al'. However, what I am getting is 'et al' after only 3 authors. I've reloaded the original SAGE style to no effect so wondering if there is some hidden setting somewhere I am missing...?

dr.adam.cooperI answered my own question: I revised the original code, saved a new version, updated the current style with the new revision and updated the bibliography and the problem went away, in case anyone in the future is interested...
